+++ Attention! Important visitor information! +++
We look forward to welcoming you again. The historic rooms and the museum can be visited every day from 9.30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. under hygiene requirements. The so-called “2G” rule will apply (in German: geimpft oder getestet means vaccinated or recovered). Wearing a FFP2 or medical mask throughout the museum is mandatory.
The castle grounds and outdoor facilities are open for visiting until 5:00 p.m.
Guided tours cannot be carried out yet - but you already have the opportunity to start the audio tour of the Palas and the historical rooms in the Wartburg Museum.
Wartburg Castle sits in splendour over the town of Eisenach in Thuringia. It was the first German castle to be designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, described as an exemplary hilltop castle of the feudal period in central Europe, despite alterations and additions made in later centuries. Wartburg Castle presents an impressive overview of 1,000 years of German history.
